What Should I Expect With SkinPen Microneedling?
SkinPen microneedling is completed in a private treatment room in about 30 – 60 minutes with numbing cream or local anesthesia if requested, but patients typically report mild or no discomfort. The areas of skin being treated will be cleaned before the microneedling handpiece is evenly passed over. Once the microneedling is performed, a topical treatment, like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or a serum with a vitamin infusion, may be applied for deeper penetration of the nutrients into the skin. A moisturizer will be massaged in, along with sun protection since your skin will be more sensitive following the treatment.
